Asking about work, love or money
- Work
- When a piece of work reaches its end, don't rush to turn the page. Go back over every step, since both the good and the bad come from there. If you walked it thoroughly and let no one down, it could not be better.
- Love
- Look back at how you have treated people in love along the way. Make up for where you fell short; if you have done it fully and your conscience is clear, this love is whole and complete.
- Money
- Go back over your accounts for this stretch: where the money came from, where it went, and whether you owe anyone. If it came cleanly and you owe nothing, there is supreme good fortune; whatever you still owe, pay it off first.
This is how to read it when this is the only changing line. With several changing lines, first see which text governs; for the hexagram as a whole, see Lü.
Line position
A yang line in a yin place: it is not in its proper place. Its partner is the third line, which is its opposite, so the two answer each other.
Top place: the end of the matter. What reaches its limit turns. Know when to stop.
When you get this line
If this is the only changing line in your cast (three backs, old yang), this line is your answer. The primary hexagram is Lü (Treading); when this line changes it becomes Dui (Joy): hexagram 10 changing to 58.
