Text震來厲,億喪貝,躋于九陵。勿逐,七日得。Thunder comes with danger. A great deal of treasure is lost, and one climbs the nine hills. Do not chase it. In seven days it is regained.

In plain wordsThe thunder strikes and it is very dangerous. Your money and goods are lost too, and all you can do is climb the high hills to take shelter. There is no need to chase after them. You are able to keep hold of yourself, and after a while what was lost will come back on its own.

The Image commentary on this line

"Thunder comes with danger": it rides on the firm.

The small Image commentary is the earliest explanation of the line texts. It usually explains a line from its position: where it stands, whether it holds the center, and which line answers it.

Verdict

Asking about work, love or money

Work
The blow comes hard, and an opportunity or some of your standing may be lost with it. Don't push back head-on, and don't rush to chase after it. Retreat to safe ground, hold on to yourself, and wait for the blow to pass.
Love
A fierce quarrel or upheaval makes you feel you might lose the other person. Don't chase after explanations or try to win things back yet. Step back, steady yourself, and let this storm pass; don't make decisions in a panic.
Money
A sudden risk has cost you some money. Don't rush to chase it, and don't think about winning it all back right away; protect what is left first. Once you are steady, you will have the strength to earn it back slowly.

This is how to read it when this is the only changing line. With several changing lines, first see which text governs; for the hexagram as a whole, see Zhen.

Line position

A yin line in a yin place: it is in its proper place; it holds the center of its trigram. Its partner is the fifth line, which is also yin, so there is no answer from it.

Second place: the center of the lower trigram, a place of praise. Stay centered and yielding.
