The line
In plain wordsYou keep your whole body in check and stop when it is time to stop. No blame.
The Image commentary on this line
艮其身,止諸躬也。
"Stilling the body": one stops it in one's own person.
The small Image commentary is the earliest explanation of the line texts. It usually explains a line from its position: where it stands, whether it holds the center, and which line answers it.
Verdict
平Neutral. Neither good nor bad. Do your part, correct mistakes, and nothing will go wrong.

Asking about work, love or money
- Work
- You are close to those who decide. You can't control the whole picture, but you can control yourself: stop what should be stopped, don't overstep, and don't grab credit. Look after your own patch well, and you won't go wrong.
- Love
- You can't decide what the other person thinks, so manage yourself first: don't cling, don't speak in anger, and pause when you feel like lashing out. Once you are steady, things won't get messed up.
- Money
- How others spend or make their money is not yours to manage; just keep your own hands in check: no impulse buying, no joining the frenzy. Look after your own share and there is no blame.
This is how to read it when this is the only changing line. With several changing lines, first see which text governs; for the hexagram as a whole, see Gen.
Line position
A yin line in a yin place: it is in its proper place. Its partner is the first line, which is also yin, so there is no answer from it.
Fourth place: next to the ruler, a place of caution. Serve those above with care.
When you get this line
If this is the only changing line in your cast (three inscribed sides, old yin), this line is your answer. The primary hexagram is Gen (Stillness); when this line changes it becomes Lü (The Wanderer): hexagram 52 changing to 56.
