Kun, all sixesHexagram 2, all lines changing · Kun (Earth) · changing to 1
The line
In plain wordsAll six lines change. The soft and weak side could not have held firm on its own; only by turning strong can it hold. Keeping to the right course for the long term is favorable.
The Image commentary on this line
用六永貞,以大終也。
All sixes, "stay true forever": it ends in greatness.
The small Image commentary is the earliest explanation of the line texts. It usually explains a line from its position: where it stands, whether it holds the center, and which line answers it.
Verdict
平Neutral. Neither good nor bad. Do your part, correct mistakes, and nothing will go wrong.

Asking about work, love or money
- Work
- Even when you are the one supporting and going along, you need a standard of your own. Gentle is fine; weak is not. Once you are sure of the right road, keep walking it for the long haul.
- Love
- Besides being gentle, you need a firm center. Whether you are waiting for the right person or already together, hold your bottom line gently but firmly; that is how love goes the distance.
- Money
- Holding steady is not enough; you also have to hold on for a long time. Don't waver because others seem to make money fast, and don't give in the moment someone tries to talk you round. What you should keep, keep for good.
This is how to read it when all six lines are changing. With several changing lines, first see which text governs; for the hexagram as a whole, see Kun.
When you get this line
If all six throws come up old yin (three inscribed sides), every line changes. For Kun you then read this special text, together with the judgment of the resulting hexagram, Qian (Heaven): hexagram 2 changing to 1.
