Asking about work, love or money
- Work
- You are the one who makes the decisions, and you don't need to do everything yourself. Pick out capable people and hand things over to them freely, while you hold on to the direction and the sense of measure. That is the best way.
- Love
- You don't need to hold everything in your hands or have everything your way. Trust the other person, let them do what they are good at, and keep an eye on the overall direction. Knowing when to let go is what actually keeps the relationship steady.
- Money
- With the business and the household accounts, you don't need to show off by doing everything yourself. Hand things to people who know the work and can be trusted, and hold on to the direction and your bottom line. That is the safest way.
This is how to read it when this is the only changing line. With several changing lines, first see which text governs; for the hexagram as a whole, see Lin.
Line position
A yin line in a yang place: it is not in its proper place; it holds the center of its trigram. Its partner is the second line, which is its opposite, so the two answer each other.
Fifth place: the center of the upper trigram, the ruler's seat, a place of achievement. This is where things are decided.
When you get this line
If this is the only changing line in your cast (three inscribed sides, old yin), this line is your answer. The primary hexagram is Lin (Approach); when this line changes it becomes Jie (Limitation): hexagram 19 changing to 60.
