Asking about work, love or money
- Work
- The load is too heavy and you are too rigid: you won't listen to anyone, and no one can help. Keep forcing it and the beam will break. Stop, and put down the part you cannot hold up.
- Love
- You carry everything yourself, you won't bend, and you won't let anyone near; the longer you hold on, the more you bow under it. Stop forcing it and stop fighting. Pause, and put down what you can no longer hold.
- Money
- The burden has already bent the beam, yet you still won't loosen your grip, and no one can help. Stop forcing it, stop borrowing to prop it up, cut what has to be cut, and stop the losses first.
This is how to read it when this is the only changing line. With several changing lines, first see which text governs; for the hexagram as a whole, see Daguo.
Line position
A yang line in a yang place: it is in its proper place. Its partner is the top line, which is its opposite, so the two answer each other.
Third place: the top of the lower trigram, a place of risk. A moment of transition. Be on guard.

If this is the only changing line in your cast (three backs, old yang), this line is your answer. The primary hexagram is Daguo (Great Excess); when this line changes it becomes Kun (Exhaustion): hexagram 28 changing to 47.
