Asking about work, love or money
- Work
- You are already in a key position, and moving higher is as smooth as climbing stairs. Keep to the right path and go up one step at a time, without trying to skip any: good fortune.
- Love
- The relationship can rise steadily: from familiarity to trust, from dating to commitment, one step at a time. Keep your heart true and walk the right way, without rushing to leap ahead, and all is well.
- Money
- Build up bit by bit along the right path, making sure each step is solid before taking the next. Staying true brings good fortune: let every bit you earn be clean and honest, with no shortcuts.
This is how to read it when this is the only changing line. With several changing lines, first see which text governs; for the hexagram as a whole, see Sheng.
Line position
A yin line in a yang place: it is not in its proper place; it holds the center of its trigram. Its partner is the second line, which is its opposite, so the two answer each other.
Fifth place: the center of the upper trigram, the ruler's seat, a place of achievement. This is where things are decided.
When you get this line
If this is the only changing line in your cast (three inscribed sides, old yin), this line is your answer. The primary hexagram is Sheng (Rising); when this line changes it becomes Jing (The Well): hexagram 46 changing to 48.
