Asking about work, love or money
- Work
- You are just starting to work with others. Step out your door and cooperate openly with everyone, without deciding in advance which camp to stick close to. With no private motive and no favorites, no one can fault you.
- Love
- Keep love out in the open. When you meet new people, be open with them; if you have a partner, deal openly with their family and friends too. With no favoritism and no private motive, open and aboveboard, you can't go wrong.
- Money
- When you go into business with others, put everything in the open from the start. Don't quietly favor anyone, and don't promise benefits to your own people in advance. Keep the accounts open and treat everyone alike, and you will not go wrong.
This is how to read it when this is the only changing line. With several changing lines, first see which text governs; for the hexagram as a whole, see Tongren.
Line position
A yang line in a yang place: it is in its proper place. Its partner is the fourth line, which is also yang, so there is no answer from it.
First place: the beginning of the matter. Low position, little power. Begin carefully.
When you get this line
If this is the only changing line in your cast (three backs, old yang), this line is your answer. The primary hexagram is Tongren (Fellowship); when this line changes it becomes Dun (Retreat): hexagram 13 changing to 33.
