Asking about work, love or money
- Work
- Put your pride aside, and go to the people nearby who are doing it right: ask their advice and draw closer to them, and gladly get back on the right road. Being willing to learn humbly is a good thing.
- Love
- Let go of your pride and reach out to the person near you who truly treats you well; stop putting on airs. Moving closer of your own free will is good.
- Money
- Don't prop up your pride. Learn from people nearby who know the business and deal honestly, and start again the steady way. Changing back of your own accord is the right step.
This is how to read it when this is the only changing line. With several changing lines, first see which text governs; for the hexagram as a whole, see Fu.
Line position
A yin line in a yin place: it is in its proper place; it holds the center of its trigram. Its partner is the fifth line, which is also yin, so there is no answer from it.
Second place: the center of the lower trigram, a place of praise. Stay centered and yielding.
When you get this line
If this is the only changing line in your cast (three inscribed sides, old yin), this line is your answer. The primary hexagram is Fu (Return); when this line changes it becomes Lin (Approach): hexagram 24 changing to 19.
