Asking about work, love or money
- Work
- You have done nothing wrong, but this has reached its end. Pushing it any further will only bring trouble. Stop, and don't add any new moves.
- Love
- However true your feelings, the time has run out. Don't keep chasing, and don't press the other person to commit. One more step forward will only hurt you both; stop right here.
- Money
- You made your money honestly, but the run has come to its end. Don't raise the stakes and don't chase any further; every extra move is a loss. Pull back and simply hold on to what you have.
This is how to read it when this is the only changing line. With several changing lines, first see which text governs; for the hexagram as a whole, see Wuwang.
Line position
A yang line in a yin place: it is not in its proper place. Its partner is the third line, which is its opposite, so the two answer each other.
Top place: the end of the matter. What reaches its limit turns. Know when to stop.
