三錢六擲損Cast简繁

Sun, six in the third placeHexagram 41, line 3 · Sun (Decrease) · changing to 26

The line

Text三人行則損一人,一人行則得其友。Three people walking together lose one. One person walking alone finds a friend.

In plain wordsWhen three travel together, one will drop away; walk alone and you will meet a friend. Two makes for single-mindedness, three becomes a muddle — what is needed now is to be of one heart and one mind.

The Image commentary on this line

一人行,三則疑也。

"One person walking alone": with three, doubt arises.

The small Image commentary is the earliest explanation of the line texts. It usually explains a line from its position: where it stands, whether it holds the center, and which line answers it.

Verdict

平Neutral. The text gives no verdict, only an image. Ask what in your situation the image resembles. The answer is there.

Asking about work, love or money

Work
When too many people are in on something, their minds scatter, suspicion creeps in, and someone always drops away. Settle on one partner and one task and give it your whole heart; that is how you actually meet the people who truly work well with you.
Love
What is between two people has no room for a third. Don't keep things going with several people at once, and don't let others meddle in what is between the two of you; only with a whole, undivided heart does it go well.
Money
The more partners there are, the messier the accounts and the more easily suspicion grows. With money, one partner you can rely on is enough; two people of one mind do better than a crowd each working their own angle.

This is how to read it when this is the only changing line. With several changing lines, first see which text governs; for the hexagram as a whole, see Sun.

Line position

A yin line in a yang place: it is not in its proper place. Its partner is the top line, which is its opposite, so the two answer each other.

Third place: the top of the lower trigram, a place of risk. A moment of transition. Be on guard.
