Asking about work, love or money
- Work
- At work, make people glad through sincerity, not flattery: praise what truly deserves praise, and offer criticism out of goodwill. People trust you, and you have nothing to regret.
- Love
- Make the other person happy not by coaxing but by being sincere: your care is real, and they can feel it. With a clear, open heart, the unease you felt before will fade away.
- Money
- In business and in working out a deal, satisfy the other side with sincerity: honest prices, no padding in what you say, and every promise kept. Money earned this way lets you rest easy and leaves nothing to regret.
This is how to read it when this is the only changing line. With several changing lines, first see which text governs; for the hexagram as a whole, see Dui.
Line position
A yang line in a yin place: it is not in its proper place; it holds the center of its trigram. Its partner is the fifth line, which is also yang, so there is no answer from it.
Second place: the center of the lower trigram, a place of praise. Stay centered and yielding.
