三錢六擲剝Cast简繁

Bo, nine at the topHexagram 23, line 6 · Bo (Splitting Apart) · changing to 2

The line

Text碩果不食,君子得輿,小人剝廬。A great fruit left uneaten. The noble one gains a carriage; the petty person strips his own hut.

In plain wordsThe last big fruit has not been eaten. For the noble one who meets this, it means gaining the support of the many; for the petty person, it means tearing down the roof over his own head.

The Image commentary on this line

君子得輿,民所載也。小人剝廬,終不可用也。

"The noble one gains a carriage": he is carried by the people. "The petty person strips his own hut": in the end he cannot be used.

The small Image commentary is the earliest explanation of the line texts. It usually explains a line from its position: where it stands, whether it holds the center, and which line answers it.

Verdict

慎Proceed with care. The text gives no verdict, but the picture holds an obstacle and a warning. Slow down and watch the point it warns about.

Asking about work, love or money

Work
Even at the worst, the best of what you have is still not lost. Guard it and use it honestly, and people will rally behind you again; squander even that, and you cut off your own way back.
Love
At the hardest point in the relationship, a little of the truest feeling still remains. Guard it and deal with each other honestly, and there is still a way to turn things around; if you spend even that on spite and wear it away, you are tearing down your own home.
Money
After all the upheaval, a little of your savings is left. Guard it and use it on the right path, and you still have a base to rebuild from; throw it into greed or gambling, and you may not even keep a roof over your head.

This is how to read it when this is the only changing line. With several changing lines, first see which text governs; for the hexagram as a whole, see Bo.

Line position

A yang line in a yin place: it is not in its proper place. Its partner is the third line, which is its opposite, so the two answer each other.

Top place: the end of the matter. What reaches its limit turns. Know when to stop.
