Asking about work, love or money
- Work
- Getting criticized or running into a wall is really pushing you to grow; it is not a bad thing. Own it honestly and don't go to extremes; when there is a problem, lay it out to those above formally, through the proper channels, and don't keep it quietly covered up.
- Love
- A storm in your love life has shaken you awake; really, it is showing you what needs to change. Face it sincerely and don't say things that go too far; whatever it is, choose a proper moment and talk it through face to face.
- Money
- If you have taken a loss or had a scare with money, treat it as the price of a lesson; it is forcing you to close the gaps. Be honest, act steadily, and whatever needs explaining, explain formally, in black and white.
This is how to read it when this is the only changing line. With several changing lines, first see which text governs; for the hexagram as a whole, see Yi.
Line position
A yin line in a yang place: it is not in its proper place. Its partner is the top line, which is its opposite, so the two answer each other.
Third place: the top of the lower trigram, a place of risk. A moment of transition. Be on guard.
When you get this line
If this is the only changing line in your cast (three inscribed sides, old yin), this line is your answer. The primary hexagram is Yi (Increase); when this line changes it becomes Jiaren (The Family): hexagram 42 changing to 37.
