Asking about work, love or money
- Work
- You have only just arrived somewhere new, and you are already haggling over trifles and grabbing small advantages; that only makes people think less of you, and the trouble is of your own making. Stop these petty moves, look at the bigger picture, and do your own job well first.
- Love
- Squabbling over every little thing, keeping count of who gave a bit more and who said a word less, only pushes the other person further away. Stop keeping these petty accounts; carry on like this and the one who gets hurt is you.
- Money
- Away from home, haggling over small sums and grabbing little bargains easily leads to big losses and trouble instead. Stop fixating on small change. Spend what needs spending without fuss, and don't let petty calculating bring disaster on you.
This is how to read it when this is the only changing line. With several changing lines, first see which text governs; for the hexagram as a whole, see Lü.
Line position
A yin line in a yang place: it is not in its proper place. Its partner is the fourth line, which is its opposite, so the two answer each other.
First place: the beginning of the matter. Low position, little power. Begin carefully.
