Asking about work, love or money
- Work
- In a new place, you have found a position to settle into, you have resources in hand, and you have dependable help beside you. Treasure it and treat people honestly. Being away from home and doing this well is already very good.
- Love
- Life is still unsettled, but you already have a place where your heart can rest, and people beside you who treat you sincerely and can be relied on. Treasure this calm and treat the other person well; that is very good.
- Money
- Working away from home, you have a place to stay, your money is safely put away, and you have someone reliable to take care of things for you. This is as secure as it gets. Keep it this way: don't show off your money and don't spend carelessly.
This is how to read it when this is the only changing line. With several changing lines, first see which text governs; for the hexagram as a whole, see Lü.
Line position
A yin line in a yin place: it is in its proper place; it holds the center of its trigram. Its partner is the fifth line, which is also yin, so there is no answer from it.
Second place: the center of the lower trigram, a place of praise. Stay centered and yielding.
When you get this line
If this is the only changing line in your cast (three inscribed sides, old yin), this line is your answer. The primary hexagram is Lü (The Wanderer); when this line changes it becomes Ding (The Cauldron): hexagram 56 changing to 50.
