The line

Text旅于處,得其資斧,我心不快。The wanderer finds a place to stay and obtains his funds and an axe. My heart is not glad.

In plain wordsFor now you have a place to stay, and you have your travel money and an axe for protection, but your heart is not at ease. This is not a position that belongs to you, and there is nobody who can truly help you.

The Image commentary on this line

旅于處,未得位也。得其資斧,心未快也。

"The wanderer finds a place to stay": he has not yet gained his place. He "obtains his funds and an axe": the heart is not yet glad.

The small Image commentary is the earliest explanation of the line texts. It usually explains a line from its position: where it stands, whether it holds the center, and which line answers it.

Verdict

慎Proceed with care. The text gives no verdict, but the picture holds an obstacle and a warning. Slow down and watch the point it warns about.

Asking about work, love or money

Work
For now you have a position, with pay and protection too, but you are never quite at ease: this is not a place that truly belongs to you, and no one really helps you. Don't treat it as the end of the road. Stay alert and don't let your guard down.
Love
In love you have somewhere to rest for now, and everything seems to be there, yet you don't feel settled: you keep feeling this is not your place, and no one who truly understands you is by your side. Don't force yourself to be convinced; see clearly first.
Money
You have enough money for now, and some savings to fall back on, but you are uneasy: this income is not steady, and there is no one you can truly rely on. Don't relax just because things are looser; keep something in reserve.

This is how to read it when this is the only changing line. With several changing lines, first see which text governs; for the hexagram as a whole, see Lü.

Line position

A yang line in a yin place: it is not in its proper place. Its partner is the first line, which is its opposite, so the two answer each other.

Fourth place: next to the ruler, a place of caution. Serve those above with care.
