三錢六擲豐Cast简繁

Feng, nine in the third placeHexagram 55, line 3 · Feng (Abundance) · changing to 51

The line

Text豐其沛,日中見沬。折其右肱,无咎。The curtain is so large that the faint stars are seen at midday. The right arm is broken. No blame.

In plain wordsThe covering is worse still: in broad daylight even the small stars can be seen. It is like breaking your right arm, and nothing can be accomplished. But this is not your fault.

The Image commentary on this line

豐其沛,不可大事也。折其右肱,終不可用也。

"The curtain is so large": great matters cannot be undertaken. "The right arm is broken": in the end it cannot be used.

The small Image commentary is the earliest explanation of the line texts. It usually explains a line from its position: where it stands, whether it holds the center, and which line answers it.

Verdict

平Neutral. Neither good nor bad. Do your part, correct mistakes, and nothing will go wrong.

  • 无咎 no blame: no fault attaches, often because a mistake is corrected in time

Asking about work, love or money

Work
Things above you are as dark as they can get, and it is as if your right arm were broken: whatever ability you have, you can't use it. Don't take on anything big or push yourself forward now. Failing to get it done is not your fault; just keep to your own duties.
Love
In love, everything is covered over right now; you can't see the way, and however hard you try, you can't get any grip. Don't make major decisions at this point. This is not your fault; take care of yourself first.
Money
The wider situation is dark, and your hands feel tied; whatever you try doesn't work. Don't make big money decisions now. Not earning is not your fault. Hold on to what you have, and as long as you make no mistakes, that is enough.

Line position

A yang line in a yang place: it is in its proper place. Its partner is the top line, which is its opposite, so the two answer each other.

Third place: the top of the lower trigram, a place of risk. A moment of transition. Be on guard.
