三錢六擲豐Cast简繁

Feng, six at the topHexagram 55, line 6 · Feng (Abundance) · changing to 30

The line

Text豐其屋,蔀其家,窺其戶,闃其无人,三歲不覿,凶。The house is made grand and the household screened off. Peering through the door: silent, no one there. For three years no one is seen. Misfortune.

In plain wordsThe house is built tall and grand, but it shuts your own home off completely. Peer in through the crack of the door and it is dead quiet, not a soul inside; for three years no one is seen. Misfortune. Greatness carried to the limit has locked you up in darkness instead.

The Image commentary on this line

豐其屋,天際翔也。窺其戶,闃其无人,自藏也。

"The house is made grand": one soars at the edge of heaven. "Peering through the door: silent, no one there": one has hidden oneself away.

The small Image commentary is the earliest explanation of the line texts. It usually explains a line from its position: where it stands, whether it holds the center, and which line answers it.

Verdict

Asking about work, love or money

Work
You have built things up big and put on grand airs, but you have walled yourself off from the people around you; it is cold and empty inside, and no one wants to come near. Stop propping up the show. Drop the airs, and go out and deal with people.
Love
You have wrapped yourself up tight: it looks fine from outside, but inside it is cold and empty, and no one can get in. Stop hiding behind high walls. Open the door, or you will only grow lonelier.
Money
The house and the show keep getting bigger while you grow more and more isolated; all that guarding of money has turned into an empty house. Stop throwing money at appearances. Tone down the airs, and put your money and your attention back into people.

This is how to read it when this is the only changing line. With several changing lines, first see which text governs; for the hexagram as a whole, see Feng.

Line position

A yin line in a yin place: it is in its proper place. Its partner is the third line, which is its opposite, so the two answer each other.

Top place: the end of the matter. What reaches its limit turns. Know when to stop.
